Results
You should be able to get a significant increase in range with this antenna, especially if you have two. This could also be used on a GMRS base station. As I stated at the beginning of the article, I was able to talk with my father over a distance of 18 miles through semi-mountainous terrain. I think that’s a pretty good increase over the less-than-rated distance I get with the stock stub antennas. Of course, your experience may be different than mine but I think you will generally have positive results with this design.
