Novell announced today that it is releasing both SuSE Linux Professional 9.3 desktop OS and the Open Enterprise Server products.

Well, it’s about time! 8^) I can say that because working on them has been a long and rewarding but awefully busy experience. In my oppinion – they rock. We really did a great job on them and hopefully the community will like them as much as I do. Admittedly, I work on the server side of the printing system for Open Enterprise Server (OES) so I did’nt get a chance to play around with the 9.3 stuff as much as I would have liked but all I can say about the OES stuff is that it’s really good.

Anyway, I was hoping for a small breather but of course, Brainshare is just around the corner and we have a lot of prep work for that coming up. I’ll be at the iPrint booth on Monday, Tues and Thrus of Brainshare. In addition to that, I’ll be attending the Novell Users International conference held the weekend before brainshare starts. I’ll be presenting with two other Linux User Group leaders on NUI and LUG group interaction, how NUI can play well in the OpenSource world and how to get involved in the Linux community. We did a similar presentation last year. One of the differences between last year and this is that there will be nearly 40% LUG leadership in attendance at the NUI conference this year vs. the one or two LUG members we met at last years meetings. It will be nice to met up with some LUG heads again!
