Yesterday while sitting at my desk at work a co-worker dropped off an envelope with my name on it. I wasn’t ’till I opened it that I remembered that I have filled out an online form to get some stickers to replace any Microsoft stickers that plagued my laptops and other computers.

Inside I found my Novell Linux Desktop Decal Kit with two stickers with instructions as outlined on in this graphic from the Novell web site:

Not only are they providing a valuable service 8^), but they are doing this with a great deal of care for the environment and contributing to a beautiful artistic project. Instead of throwing your old stickers away where they will eventually end up in a landfill, leaching aluminum and deadly adheasive chemicals into the ground water, you can send your used MS Windows stickers to:

Redmund Artistic Recycling Project
1800 South Novell Place
MS: PRV-H411
Provo, UT 84606

The collected stickers will be used in a artstic project, an effort that will beautify the world around us. Ha! More info on the project and instructions on how you can get your own stickers can be found on the Novell Linux Desktop Decal Kit web page. One of the funiest things on the web page is a guidelines that reads “Microsoft employees should indicate this clearly in order to receive priority processing”.
