I picked up my Wheeler mountain bike from the bike shop yesterday evening. I got a new Marzocchi MX Comp ETA and Shimano Deore LX V-breaks and levers.

My saddle is a racing saddle from years ago and it’s also been 4 or 5 years since I’ve ridden my mountain bike so I’m not supprised that my butt was crying for relief in only about 5 minutes. I much prefer my Haluzak Horizon recumbent. I need to get a new saddle that will be more friendly to sit on. I’m thinking gel.

I’m also going kiting tonight if the wind is in the right direction (from the north) at Point of the Mountain Flight Park. Cloud 9 Soaring and Ozone have planned ‘kite night’ every tuesday eveing at the point. We’ll see if anyone actually shows up besides me this time 8^) . There’s been a few times when I was the only one enjoying kite night….Oh well, I need the practice. I’ll be there from about 6:00pm to about 8:00pm or so. I might actually bring my mountain bike just for fun if no one else is there, I might go for a short ride.

I’ve got a few friends – Anne, Mindy and possibly Clint that I may bring as well. They’re interested in kites and have been wanting to tag along for a while. Clinton came along two weeks ago and brought two of his kids along with one of their friends who grew tired of flying, decided to run off behind a near-by hill and play “bar fight”. One picked up an old beer bottle, and in trying to break it, cut a small gash in her finger. A quick bandage and we were off to take her back home. Not a great place for children I guess. They did all have a fun time flying kites when they were actually flying them though.
