Here’s wishing you and your’s the happiest System Administrator’s Day ever.

I brought two dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts to work today for my co-workers on the pretext of it being “Happy Testing Friday”, one of thoes days when you need it to be happy because it would not otherwise be so. We’re in crunch-mode getting ready for a release and testing is taking many hours and late nights. I was, at the time, not aware of the actual psuedo-holiday before me.

SysAdmin day for many, just adds a little lemon juice to the paper cut since no one ever recognizes the system administrators…they are like printing in a desktop OS, you never notice how well it works until something is wrong and you need them – three hours ago.

Hey, maybe that will all change and like other psuedo-holidays, people who do SysAdmin work will get some real recognition today. One can only hope.
