Three movies last weekend: Memiors of a Geisha, Bourne Identity & March of the Penguins

So, I don’t know if it’s that I just have too much time on my hands these days (there’s certainly not a lack of things I need to do, so maybe that’s not the case) or that I just need a break now and then but I took time to watch three movies at the end of last week: Memoirs of a Geisha, Bourne Identity and March of the Penguins.

Movie: The New World

Well, a friend and I are going to see The New World tonight. It should be pretty cool. I’d also like to see some other movies: Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Peter Jackson’s King Kong and Hoodwinked sometime soon as well (I’m a CGI movie fan).

LG LST-3510A DVD/HDTV tuner fixed, working good

I mentioned in a previous article that my LG LST-3510A DVD/HDTV tuner had died and I had sent it off to get repaired. I seems that a firmware update was all that was needed (I could see no other changes listed in the materials sent back except for a hand-written label on the back of the unit saying that the unit had been refurbished and that a firmware update had been performed. The unit seems to be working well. So, LG came through on the last day of the warranty. I hope the unit lasts a bit longer this time…

Software for Starving Students v. 2006.01 is available
