The New World movie poster

Well, a friend and I are going to see The New World tonight. It should be pretty cool. I’d also like to see some other movies: Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Peter Jackson‘s King Kong and Hoodwinked sometime soon as well (I’m a CGI movie fan).

UPDATE Sat Jan 21 01:14:53 MST 2006: I just got home after seeing the movie. It was actually pretty good – especially if you like artistic films. The story was told mostly through scenes and visuals with very little dialog. The cinematography was amazing and captivating. There is little to no “action” in the movie so don’t go expecting to see a Last of the Mohicans or Braveheart ‘cuz you ain’t gonna see it.

The New World

My personal opinion was that it was well done and a beautiful movie but you need to be aware that it is long and slow paced. If you are prepared for that and enjoy great cinematography, you may like this film.

The guys in back of us made me laugh a couple times when I heard them, under their breath say “Oh man….gimme some action – just a little…” and “I’m dying here…”. They had apparently come to see an action flick and were none too happy.
