So, I don’t know if it’s that I just have too much time on my hands these days (there’s certainly not a lack of things I need to do, so maybe that’s not the case) or that I just need a break now and then but I took time to watch three movies at the end of last week: Memoirs of a Geisha, Bourne Identity and March of the Penguins.

This was the first time I had seen any of the three movies and was surprised at how good they all were. Memoirs reminded me of some places in Japan that I had lived. Kyoto has many streets, houses and old shrines that were featured in the film. I had lived in Kyoto twice during two summers. Besides being a great experience, the history and architecture there was amazing. While the time period has changed, Memoirs reminded me a lot of the experience of living in Japan. The story was quite good and the cinematography was amazing.

OK, I’m a little but slow on the take-up for this move but I can’t say enough good about Bourne Identity but in this case, I’ll make it short. One of the best action movies I’ve seen in a long time and I highly recommend it.

March of the Penguins was extremely impressive with incredible cinematography and a heart-warming story of the life of the Emperor Penguin. It’s almost unbelievable life full of hardship, migration, death and birth. It makes me thankful I have a home which keeps me warm… :)

All three movies were great IMO. See them if you haven’t yet.
