Filed under: Linux, Tech — marc @ 12:12 pm

When scripting admin type tools in bash, many times you need to run a script as root. A script sometimes requires mounting file systems, adding users, moving/editing/renaming files and some other things that the user executing the script may not have rights to do.

Wash car…it snows

Filed under: General — marc @ 4:27 pm

So, I’m going on a date tonight and I thought that if life itself hasn’t been motivation enough, maybe a date would get me to wash my car. I took it to the local Supersonic Car Wash today at 3:00pm-ish and wouldn’t you know it, as I drove out of the car wash with my bright and shiny Jeep Cherokee, it began to snow. 2006 Olympics & I wish spring were here

Filed under: (I)Rational Conception - Abstract Thought, Exertion — marc @ 2:02 pm

Despite the wonder of the winter Olympics, I wish spring were here. I’m itching to get outside and put on some road miles. I did see the amazing half-pipe competition last evening and thought that Shaun White did a great job and deserved the gold. I was upset that Apolo Ohno slipped up because he tried to pass Hyun-Soo Ahn on the right and get a first place finish when he had a respectable 2nd place finish in the bag. Had he been satisfied with his position, he would have made it on to the next round. It’s as though he didn’t have the larger picture in mind and could only see the current race rather than building for future competition.

The Olympic games have been pretty good so far though. I’m looking forward to the upcoming competitions.

This pic is just too funny. I don’t know who the original photographer was but I think they caught some squirrels that need to be watched very carefully…

The Force runs deep with these little ones…
