I went with a friend, Charlotte to see a Peter Breinholt concert last night at Sundance Ski & Summer Resort. It was held outside, it rained the whole time but we had plenty of blankets and some stadium chairs. We found a spot under the only pine tree in the grassy general seating area which helped shield us from most of the rain. The concert was really good. I haven’t seen them play live since I was in school. I was surprised to see the bass player - Mike Ensign. He and I are good friends but I haven’t seen him for probably 5 or more years. I knew that he was one of the original members of the Big Parade and had collaborated with Peter on their first album and has also played with him quite often since. I didn’t even think he was going to be there last night though. The thought hadn’t even occurred to me however, maybe he always plays with him.

Every now and then I get anxious to build a project. It may be a home theater, an ambient air filter for the shop, maybe a portable solar charging system to power my electronics when camping or maybe a speaker or two or even built-in bookcases (both works in progress).

Another video of Steve. Below is a video of a great interview that Steve Irwin did on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Very funny.

So, one of my favorite conservationists and genuine people has died. Steve Irwin, known to most people around the world as the Crocodile Hunter passed away today in an accident while filming a documentary about the sea’s most dangerous creatures off the coast of Australia. A stingray barb pierced his chest and heart.
I remember watching his shows on television many times and having to look away because what he was doing or the danger he was in was too hard to watch. He lived his life like that, on the edge but he enjoyed what he was doing and died doing just that. Below is a video tribute of Steve Irwin’s live originally broadcast on Australian television on September 4, 2006, the day of Steve’s death.
